Kendall's Rockin' Birthday Project

Hi Everyone
One of my favorite things about being a demonstrator is working with people who really love to craft...and who loves to craft more than kids?  One of the services I provide is planning Birthday parities; and today's post are of Kendall's Rockin' Party she had this weekend (on Right).  Now I had the privilege of doing her little sister Hailey's B-day party this summer, you can check out her projects HERE.  For Kendall's party, she requested a funky girly skull project, and we decided on a wipe board with the Decor Element Friends are forever and the Just Jawing Stamp Set (retired).  I love how each project is different; I teach the girls what to do, and tell them to make it their own.  Of course the Glitter was their favorite party. If you look closely at the top picture of all the projects; you'll see that some of the girls wrote THANK YOU on the boards to me..how sweet is that!
If you'd like me to design your child's next party just contact me to start the details; prices start at $15/Child and include 1.5hours of teaching time.

Classy Simplicity

Hi Everyone
Just a quickie today to match my quickie cards!  I wanted to show these simple, clean cut cards that only took a few minutes to make but are so beautiful.  I find them very classy in their simplicity. I also made these with the Stampin' Spots and Card Stocks that come in the Getting Started Collections!  I just added a few stamps and matching accessories! So simply and cost effective!  On my end Marina Mist Card, my ribbon fell of and I didn't notice, oops! So there should be a 1/8" ribbon of Marina Mist on the bottom!

If you live in the St.Albert, AB area, RSVP to my Crop Night Tonight! 6pm-12am; $15 Non Club Members, $10 Club Members; includes Diner, drinks, Kit, and use of my stamps and punches!  You may also use my Big Shot and dies once you purchase your own cutting pads.  You will also receive a discount on any supplies ordered tonight!

Vintage Christmas: Twisted Sketches #68

Hi Everyone
Well I just had such a good time making my LO for today's Twisted Sketches #68; today's twist is Vintage.  I went head first down vintage road; the pictures are of me at Christmas in 1976 with my brother and sister; she is giggling in the picture cause she has two different slippers on!  I don't think I'm quite old enough to be called vintage yet! LOL! But it's not a new picture of me...so vintage it is!  Then the tag on it is ACTUALLY vintage!  I bought it last year at the Antique show; I actually I bought a few vintage postcards, tags and have been hording them until the perfect LO comes along!  Today's LO meet the perfect criteria so my Santa tag was used!  In small print on the tag is says "National School Studio's" so I'm assuming this went out with their school pictures or something.  Then for my paper and stamps I choose from SU! great vintage theme products this year! Contempo Christmas is the stamp set that I made all those cute decorations from and stamped the gorgeous boarder of sparkly trees with. My patterned paper is Love Letter which has a total vintage feel about it as well! I love this vintage trend right now!  I finished off my LO with placing Basic Pearls (sticky backed half pearls) on the decoration and using MME chipboard for the title and those little cardinals.  Actually, once I saw the picture of the LO, I decided it needed one more large cardinal next to "merry", but as you can tell I'm having a bad picture day! So I didn't retake.  Sorry about all the shadows!

UDI Color Challenge & Plastic Flower Technique

Hi Everyone
Tuesday means it Utah Divas International Color Challenge; if your an SU! Demo you can join the site, just add your email to the comment section or email it to me privately as well as where you live and I will forward it on.  So you can see today's colors are Real Red, Chocolate Chip, So Saffron and Regal Rose.  Now I can not tell a lie, I struggled with this!  I am not a fan of Red and Pink together, not at all! Don't know if that makes me old, but me don't like! LOL! So anyways,  I have come up with a little Hostess Gift with a monogrammed matching set of cards.  The little bag is made with the Fancy Favor Bigz Die, can you see the cute little trim around the edges?  This little bag is so cute and would be perfect favor gift at a wedding with your little chocolates inside!   Mine actually has a handle with Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon that fell back and I didn't realize! Sorry, you can't see it! Can you see how my flower looks plastic?  This is the big flower from the Paper Daisies; I spritzed it with Gold Glow Smooch and quickly covered it with clear embossing powder while it was still wet, then I just heat set the powder and I ended up with a pretty plastic flower. I love this technique!  I didn't bother doing a picture tutorial as there really is no point, and no time to take the pictures! LOL! You have to be quick as smooch dries pretty quickly!
Hope you play along with the challenge; if your not a Demo and can't get onto the site, please just put a link up in the comment section for everyone to go look at!

Technique Club: Faux Linen

Hi Everyone
Yesterday was my Scrapbook Junkies Club followed by my Technique Junkies Club, it was a great day had by all!  I really love my clubs, the ladies are amazing and I just LOVE teaching them funky new crafting ideas!  The project I'm showing you today was from my Technique Junkies,  they made a card with the technique Faux Linen, and they all love it.  As did I, such a simply technique but soooo pretty!  Can you pick it up on the second picture ( click on it to make it bigger) ; the "grain" of linen they made in the paper? It's hard to pick up in the picture, but in real life it is just gorgeous.  That is why I choose a simpler layout for the card as the technique really is the show stopper on this one.  If you are in the St.Albert/Edmonton area, I still have 3 spots open in this club! I'd love to have you!

Anything I can do, YOU can do better!

Hi Everyone
Today was the first meeting up of my new day time scrap class called Scrap n Chat. The project they made today was my scrapbook page from the  September Club Planner.  Now this club just makes the page, it's a quickie 1 hour Thursday morning Club.  If you live in the St.Albert area, I have a few spots open in this club!  My Sunday Club; Scrapbook Junkies will make the same page, and the matching card; which are both in the Club Planner pdf.  Now the page on top is my LO; and the next two pages come from  2 of the ladies in the club.   I love how they personalize their own page by choosing their own DSP and mixing it up a bit.  If you look closely on the 2nd LO, she actually stamped the Raven, instead of the spiders like I did, on her Razzleberry.
If your an SU! Demo, I have my Club Planners for purchase!  I'll do the hours of designing and writing up the directions and you make the money in your own clubs! You can purchase them each month for $3.50 or pre purchase 10 and receive 1 FREE for $31.50.   Please click HERE to read all the details about my Club Planners.  If you are one of my customers, place a $50 order online and you will receive  1 FREE  Club Planner or Class planner of your choice!  If you are ordering supplies for one of the projects I have to receive the planner for free, just email me and I will email you the supply list.

Did you know there are 46 Days till Halloween?

Hi Everyone
This is SU! Decor Accents Date Keeper.  This is such a cute little counter! You can use it as a calendar or to count down to events. It comes with the number pages already down, and the little windows in the middle you can slide open or closed for count down or for the calendar use.  On the right hand side there is a 3x3 area for you to design your own theme.  As you can tell, mine is a count down to Halloween! I made a pin wheel flower with Wicked Fun DSP and a Glitter Brad in the center.  I stamped the skull from the set From the Crypt with Black Craft ink and added some glitz with Iridescent Ice EP; them I stamped "happy Halloween" from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and punched it out with the Word Window punch and mounted in on a Old Olive punch out with the Modern label punch.  I attached the skull to a 3x3 piece of Wicked Fun; slid it in the frame and attached the greeting and flower to the outside of the frame.
After Halloween, I'll take it out and make it a countdown to Thanksgiving than to Christmas! Very cute and very handy to have with Kids in the house!

Cutest Sleeve on the Block

Hi Everyone!
I am over the MOON with how today's project turned out!  Now if you read my blog, you know I am not a sewer..want to be...but not! So I cheat and use a glue gun! One day I'll take a sewing class, when I have time! But who knows when that will be!  Anyways....I've seen on a lot of sewing blog ladies making cute coffee cup sleeves, well I wanted to make one too..but the trick was doing it no sew!  As soon as I saw the new SU! Holiday Mini and the AWESOME new Fabrics we have and Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets, I knew what I was going to make!  This is it! My Cutest Sleeve on the Block for my take out coffee cups!  Just like we all now bring our reusable grocery bags with us shopping, now I'm going to bring my reusable coffee sleeve with me when I'm getting my coffee! Every little bit helps, right!
Now I want everyone to help out the planet, so I thought a FREE tutorial would be nice!   This is an all SU! Project, and the SUPPLIES you will need are:
Deck the Halls Fabric & Buttons, Big Shot Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet (OMG I LOVE THESE), , Trim XL Die, ( ALL on page 16-17 of the Holiday Mini which you can down load on your right), Big Shot, Circle #2 Die ,5/16" Brad, Early Espresso C/S 12x12, Craft & Paper Scissors; 2 Cardboard coffee cup sleeve from your favorite coffee house! Check your recycle box ! And you will need a hot glue gun.

1. Open up your coffee sleeve, trace with chalk on the back side of your fabric a slightly bigger shape then your sleeve; you need enough to wrap around your sleeve, so at least an 1" bigger.
2. Now cut out your fabric with your Craft & Paper scissors; THESE ARE A MUST for fabric, they are the same quality as a good pair of fabric scissors! Mine NEVER touch paper, they are only used for fabric and ribbon!
3.Next place your fabric, back side down in your Big Shot Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet; follow direction on package. These stuff transfers adhesive to your project for you to apply to paper.   TIP I actually used my Decor Elements applicator as I found it worked better on such a large surface.  SU! Does sell the Fabric Adhesive Roll as well, but I was too lazy to go up stairs to get my iron! This worked well as I was putting it onto paper.
4. Once the adhesive is transferred onto your fabric, pull away and carefully put on your table (it is now super sticky) and center your cardboard sleeve on top of your sticky fabric.  Start with the big edges and fold over to the back; do your sides next.  Trim off any excess in the corners.

5. Now take your 2nd sleeve and place it inside your fabric one; you are going use this as a guide to seal your fabric sleeve with a hot glue gun.  Apply Hot Glue to the edge and fold over and hold for a few seconds.
6. Once dry, remove 2nd sleeve. Thread up a Deck the Halls button with Linen Thread and glue down to cover seem.
7. To decorate it; I cut a Early Espresso 12x12 C/S with the Big Shot and Trim XL Die and adhered it with the Multipurpose adhesive. Just follow the simple direction on the package! 2 seconds work! And to make the lollipop flowers, I cut the other two fabric patters from Deck the Halls Designer Fabric(you get 3 patters in one package for $12.50, each piece is 28"x 18") with the #2 Circles Die and the big shot.  I also threw in a piece of sparkly tulle (non su!); I glue gunned each layer of circles and squished the fabric to gather it while the glue was hot.  Used my Crop a Dile to punch a hole and added a neutrals brad in Very Vanilla!
DONE!  Now one thing I forgot was to make the inside pretty, you may want to finish it off on the inside

Hope you like it and your inspired to make your own. I'd love to see what you make; please link it up in the comment section! Your comments are appreciated!
Thanks
Dawn

Crafty Recycling: Forget X's & O's and play Ghoul Tic Tac Toe Instead

Hi Everyone
OK again, I have had soo much fun making a Halloween project!  Today my brain surprised me with another cool idea, a ghoulish Tic Tac Toe Board!  So downstairs I went to craft! While I was looking though stash of Chipboard, looking for the 9" Square On board Chipboard; I came accross last years Mommy & Me Halloween class project (picture 1); which was made with the 9" square and 5x7" On board Chipboard(both are retired now! ARG); covered with Elegant Eggplant C/S, White Craft ink, and the Spooky Brocade Decor Element! So cute!  So I decided to use the BACK side of this cute hanging sign! That way it will be use more often then once a year!  Even though I made the X's & O's board a Halloween theme, it can be played all year round! CUTE EH!
I don't think I need to explain anything; it's pretty self explanator.  Just make sure you make 5 of each charactors. I used double side sticky velcro to attach them to the board; make sure the flatter side is on your charactor to make it easier for you kids to store them in the baggie!  Now that cute bat is not my creation! I wish! I bought the simple to follow pdf over at Lynn Pratt's Blog  for only $1.99!  It shows you how to make 3 cute Halloween cards and also how to make a punch skeleton!  And, I have no idea who to credit the ghost too! I've seen him on loads of blogs and I have no idea who thought of him first! But THANK YOU  to who ever you are; feel free to leave me a comment if you know who it is so I can credit them!

Supplies
Nite Owl DSP, Whisper White and Basic Black C/S
Big Shot, Serif Alphabet Dies
On Board Chip board Sheet to cut out X'S and O's
Owl Punch, large oval, 1/2" circle
Craft Elegant Eggplant  and Pumpkin Pie Inks put on with daubers
Black Satin Ribbon, Raven Lace Ribbon
Sticky Strip, Glue Stick
NON SU! Sticky back Velcro, small zip lock baggie, 2x ball chains

Ghost & Ghouls Halloween Banner

Hi Everyone!
2 days in a row I've made 3D items...now that is a record! I've had so much fun making this Halloween Banner today with my son Ethan (he made the boy monster on the right, he got board after that one!). Now this is a labour of love as it was loads of cutting! But I am so glad I took the time to make it!
So you recognize that shape of my ghouls?  These are blown up versions of the Owl XL Punch.  One of the great things about being a Demonstrator is Stampin' Connection which is a Demo only web site that ALL demo's have access too.  This is a place where demo's share their ideas with other demo's.  Now 2 demo's have posted some cool projects there; one is Ellen Kemper who posted this cute monster she made with the Owl Punch and the other Lynn Pratt who made a PDF to purchase the blown up version of the owls to make Santa Owls.  Well I bought the pdf and mixed it up to make my own project! These took a lot of punches: Curly Label XL, 2 1/2"- 1 3/4"- 1 3/8" 1 1/4"- 1" 3/4"- 1/2" Circles, Oval XL, and the Heart to Heart XL.  The picture does not show it very well, but on the girl monster, I cut long eyelashes with Black C/S and curled them up with a bone folder, SO CUTE! And it was Ethan's idea to use the small heart to make her mouth. I added little touches with Dazzling Diamonds and  ink thenattached them all with Jumbo Eyelets & Pumpkin Pie Striped Grosgrain.
Hope you like them and make some little ghouls of your own with your little ghouls this Halloween!

Newsprint Gift Bag with Vintage Flower Tutorial

Hi Everyone
Well I have gone outside my crafty box today and made a paper 3D item! That is SO not me! So I thought it was time to make it ME!  And it was so easy with the Northshore Stampers Class Planner!  I soon as I saw that planner I knew I had to have it to teach me how to make that gorgeous bag!  I wish I could get one made in cloth as I would carry this every where! Do you like it?? How could you not?  Now I can't give you the direction but you can buy the file over at Angela's Blog for only $5, it includes CARDS for that price as well!!
I did change the paper I used and I change mine up by closing it with Velcro in the center.  I also made that cute flower embellishment with the new 5/8" Victoria Crochet Trim.  Want to make the flower? It is so easy.  Follow my tutorial!!
You will need 16" of the Victorian Crochet Trim (118481)
; a circle of Very Vanilla and Chip board; I used the Circle #2 Die and the Big Shot to cut out the 2nd smallest circle. One Antique Brad (117873); A Glue Gun,  and a Big Bite Crop a dile.

Glue your Vanilla C/S to you chipboard; and then cover your circle with hot glue.  I'm sure you could use sticky strip if you wanted.
Starting on an outside edge, cover the outside with the edge of your lace. Work quickly with the hot glue. Following the same circle movement, keep swirling inside the whole circle.

Once you get to the center, cut off the excess.  Tidy up both edges by making sure they are glued down.  Now I punched a hole with a BIG BITE not the small crop a dile; I found I just could not get around all the layers with regular crop a dile without squishing the lace.  Then I place my antique brad in to the center.  You could put a button instead if you don't have the big bite.
*You could easily make this into a hair pin by using a vanilla piece of felt instead of the chip board! So Pretty!

Thanks for stopping by today; hope you like my tutorials! Comments are very much appreciated and make my day!!

Window Sheet Flower Tutorial

Hi Everyone
As promised, here is a tutorial on window sheet clear flowers I made last week on this card.  I decided while I was making the flower for the tutorial today, that I may as well make another project to go with it.  So today's LO is made with the same paper as yesterdays, Nursery Suite Specialty.  And again, NOT a baby in sight!  This paper is just fun! I love the shapes!!  I am also tag teaming up this post with a challenge over at Stampin Royalty; it's a picture inspiration today. The picture is full of banners, so that is where my inspiration came from to make the 'jaimie" banner.  I attached the wee banner down with tooth picks! How fun is that!  The cover of a scrapbook magazine I got this month had tooth picks holding on the square title, and I thought how fun, banked the idea until I had something to do with it!  I made the banner with the scallop square punch and the 1 1/4" square, folded in half around the tooth pick.  The big wavy trim is from the new XL Tasteful Trim Die in the Holiday Mini, I cut it with Early Espresso C/S.  Did you see the bird? I added a little peak on his head to make him look like a blue jay; this is just the tip of the wing attached to the back of his head. Lastly, if you look closely, I alternated the sticky back Rhinestones & Pearls around the circle.
OK onto the tutorial:
I used 2 Fancy Flower XL, and 1 1/4 " circle punch outs from the Widnow Sheets Medium thickness. Plus a 1" circle of C/S to cover the brad.  You will also need one brad, heat tool, and tweezer or scissors.

Layer your two flowers, stagger the petals; put the clear circle on top of them,  and then the C/S, punch hole with crop a dile and place brad in center.* WARNING* for this one I used a square brad; it melted! But the circle ones on the card did not! So you may want to put a cheap brad in to start, then change it out.

Hold your flower with scissors or tweezers as it gets SUPER hot once you turn the heat gun on.

Next, hold you heat gun in the center and let it all melt. You can move it around the sides to encourage it to melt where you want.  Don't bother from the back though as the plastic moves towards the heat, it will just warp it the wrong way! So top & sides only.  Takes a few minutes to melt, be patient!
Try different shape punches; it looks good with nesting circles as well!
Have fun!!! Happy Scrappin'! I'd love to see what you've made with this tutorial! Please live a link in the comments section for all to go over and see!!
