*FYI as somebody so rudely pointed out, The Gentleman Crafter has made an awesome "Jacked Up Jack-o-lantern" on Sept 26, over on his blog that I was 100% UNAWARE of. This one was designed by Laurie before that blog was up, I only got around to posting it on Sept 30.  And further more, there are loads of these different pumpkins floating around on blogs, ie Tim Holtz, this is not an original idea by The Gentleman Crafter either, and by no means were we trying to take credit for the idea. But THIS design was designed by Laurie, and she deserves credit for that.   Please feel free to go look at his, and Tim's pumpkins as they are  gorgeous as well.  For FUTURE reference, it is always polite to ask questions via email with a NAME instead of writing a snotty comment under anonymous! These blogs take a lot of work, if you don't like what you see, no one is forcing you to look.  If snotty comments continue than I will be forced to put up a comment monitor.

Say CHEESE!

Hi All
First off, I must apologies for the picture quality of the layout....looked better when I took it at the shop! I'm at home now posting, so I can't retake another one, sorry.  I wanted to post it though to show you these fabulous Studio Calico wood word bubbles! How CUTE are they?? They came in last week, with a few others as well....and LOADS more coming in todays shipment. All week I've been prepping the shop for this HUGE order that is coming in, and today it will be in! So make sure you pop over to the shop asap to check out and grab some of the gorgeous NEW GOODIES that will be out this afternoon (Friday).
Anyhoo..about the layout
All Paper is from Echo Park's Everyday Eclectic: there are 3 different patterns on this LO; the hexagons I cut up and painted with Claudine Hellmuth's paints (another happy obsession of mine). I also used the new Red Chevron Washi tape on the LO...it made onto LOADS of my layouts on the weekend! This stuff is fabulous!  The Polaroid emebellishment is from a Lawn Fawn Stamp set that is coming back in stock next week. Again that Polaroid Frame made it onto a bunch of my projects! You are going to NEED this stamp set! ;)
Anyways hope to see you in the shop soon!  Mommy & Me Classes will be starting up again, October 20 with a Halloween Mini for $20 includes a cute stamp for you child to take home too! Project will be posted as soon as I get supplies in..lol!

Graphic 45 Bird Song

Hi Everyone
I was lucky enough to get a chance to escape away this weekend to a wonderful friends cabin to scrapbook the WHOLE weekend! It was fabulous! I have not had that much un-interupted scrap time since I've opened the store!
This layout I'm showing you today was made with Graphic 45's new line Bird Song. I LOVE this line, it is so beautiful! If you click on the pictures, it will make them larger and hopefully you will be able to pick up all the details on it.  Lots of paper piecing, layering, inking with distress inks (Vintage Photo, Weathered Wood, and Victoria Velvet), and glossy accents were used to make the layers and details on this page.  The ribbon is seam binding I sell by the foot in the shop inked with Weathered Wood Distress ink.  The #17 is from Tim Holtz Numerals Collection of metal numbers that I used Alcohol Inks (Butterscotch, Aqua and White) to decorate.  The number 17 stands for our Anniversary, the pictures are from our date night  a few weeks ago. I've been married 17 YEARS..thats nuts! LOL!
I'll post my layout with my Husband on it in a few days.

Sneak Peek of Steampunk embellishments

Hi All
I've been in Trade Show Mode for a week now and will be the rest of this week getting ready for The Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival this Friday and Saturday at Millennium Place in Sherwood Park.  I can't wait to work at the show, I had such a great time last year in the booth and meet so many new people!
I'm not going to post my completed projects until after the show, but I thought I'd give you a sneak peek of my Steampunk projects I'm working on.  By the time I left work today, my hands were stained with ink, paint and alcohol ink. Plus my Ez View desk was a BOMB SITE!!
Hope to see you at the show

Mixed Media Scrap Page

Hi All!
According to Wikipedia:
Mixed media, in visual art, refers to an artwork in the making of which more than one medium has been employed.
I've been running a series of Mixed Media Classes in the shop the last 4 months and have been REALLY enjoying it.  The group of ladies who are taking it are fabulous and I love the fact that I'm teaching them how to think outside the box in their crafting.  Every ones pages turn out 100% different, they are all UNIQUE and reflect THEIR personal taste.  My job is to just teach them the techniques.
With this page I taught them about Image Transfer ( although we had some humidity issue); making a wash with Gesso and making glazes.
These Mixed Media techniques are for ALL forms of crafting..Art Jounaling, Card Making, Scrapbooking!  You just have to open up to trying something new and be ok with making a MESS! LOL!

Hybrid page....

Hi Eveyone
I had a Heidi Swapp Memory File Class a few weeks ago, and in it, we made a cool element  of stamping on a sheet of vellum.  I demo'd a page for the class, (center of the page below), and I just loved how it turned out and knew I had to make something with it. This is what I made.  I started off with my stamped vellum page and picked out a glittered black sheet of 12x12 cardstock to be my background and just went from there.  So I'm calling this my "hybrid page"...it's not art journaling cause it's not in a journal...but it doesn't have a picture on it...so it's not really a scrapbook page...so, it's my HYBRID PAGE!
Unfinished Page: Sometimes I THINK I'd done, take a picture of it to post it, then look at and realize it's not really "there" yet.  The main image is stamped onto Vellum with Archival Inks, and  Stampotique, Dylusions and Tim Holtz stamps. I used a water brush and Perfect Pearls Powder in Forever Red and glam up is wings.

Ok, now I'm done! Added some more collage layers from an old book and added some Paper Tape from 7 Gypsies. Then I added more texture with wash of  Black Gesso. There is a lot of texture on this page that is hard to pick up with a camera.

This skull is from one of Tim Holtz's new stamp sets, Halloween Blue Prints (which is soon to become one of my fav's).  I inked him up with Distress Inks, Bronze Adirondack paint, Glossy Accent in the eyes and finished off with Black Gesso. The wings are from one of my favourite Tim's sets too (Royal Script), and I cut them out with my Eclips  and Tim's Stamp 2 Cut cartridge. I stamped them with Red Archival and used the same distressing recipe I used on the skull.

The light bulb is from the NEW Prima range of embellishments and I LOVE them!!!! I grunged it up a bit with black gesso and a Tim Holtz metal Chain tassel.

Light Modelling Paste,  I coloured up with Adirondack Color wash spray first then layered it on through a Crafters Workshop brick stencil. Then I added more texture to it by black washing over it.

I used Claudine Hellmuth  Muliti Medium to attach down some tulle and some Grunge board numbers ( that I inked up and coved with Glossy Accents), then I painted them with Adirondack Bronze Paint,  Black Gesso and Dylusions Black Spray.

Hope you like it! I had a lot of fun making it....I MAY add a picture of my boys to it in the future...not sure yet.
